TERMS OF USE

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Best Band On Campus (BBOC) website. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

WEBSITE AND COMPETITION ENTRY

A $100 payment covers a named band’s invitation. A performer must accept, then the band must complete its roster and eligibility review before it can compete. The payer need not perform in the band. Payment alone is not band consent or eligibility approval.

ELIGIBILITY

You must be at least 13 to use the site. Competition eligibility is governed by the Official Rules and additional entry requirements. At minimum, competition bands must have at least two registered performers, represent one primary accredited U.S. college or university, and include at least one member currently enrolled there. Original music is required for judged competition entries. Participants under the age of majority must provide parent or legal guardian consent when required.

ACCEPTABLE USE

Use the site only for lawful purposes. Do not interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, impersonate another person, submit false or harmful material, scrape or misuse site content, or infringe another person’s rights.

SUBMISSIONS AND NOMINATIONS

You are responsible for information and material you submit and confirm that you have the right to provide it. You grant BBOC a limited, nonexclusive right to review, store, and use your submission to respond to you and operate the website, competition, and requested services. BBOC will not publicly display submitted material without the permission requested in the relevant form or another agreement.

Band-interest submissions and fan nominations are not official entries, do not create a contract, and do not guarantee contact, acceptance, eligibility, selection, participation, or any prize.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

BBOC’s name, logos, artwork, site design, text, and other original content are owned by or licensed to BBOC and may not be copied, altered, distributed, or used commercially without written permission. Rights in material submitted by users remain with their respective owners, subject to the limited permission above.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The site may use or link to third-party services, including Stripe, Mighty Networks, Airtable, Cloudflare, and social platforms. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. BBOC is not responsible for third-party content, availability, or practices.

COMPETITION ENTRY, VERIFICATION, AND FEES

If the band declines or never claims the invitation, the payer may request a refund from BBOC. If two people are charged for the same band, BBOC refunds the duplicate. Once the band has accepted and begun registration, withdrawal, missed requirements, failed verification, false information, or disqualification are generally not refundable, except as required by law or expressly authorized by BBOC.

DISCLAIMERS AND LIABILITY

The site is provided as is and as available. To the extent permitted by law, BBOC disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the site. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

CHANGES

We may update the site and these terms as BBOC develops. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
